WE WILL USE FISHDONKEY APP on your smartphone. No apps to download! Angler will be invited to register when entry fee is paid IN FULL one week before the tournament. Tournament Director will meet with each team prior to launch. Largemouth & smallmouth bass are eligible, bass must measure a minimum 12" in length to count towards the tournament. The fish will be weighed, photoed (with scale display) on app, then released. Angler will enter the weight into FISHDONKEY app immediatel, so the live scoretracker is refreshed and as current as can be. Anglers will have the ability to track the scoreboard updates live during the entire tournament. Anglers will weigh their own fish using the honor system - please BE HONEST as this is a low entry fee, low-payout, low stakes "FUN EVENT" intended for all to have fun, especially the kids that are participating in this! We have had 8 previous tournaments with no issues, and hope that the anglers invited to this event can continue our integrity by being honest with their scoring. Life Jackets are to be worn anytime the outboard motor is in gear and propelling the boat. All WI fishing laws are to be followed. We are not licensed for a live weigh-in, under WI DNR laws this is a "catch and immediate release tournament" so in the situation of a digital scale failing, you MUST RELEASE THE FISH! You will not be able to hold the fish in the livewell for any length of time. It is recommended to bring a back-up budget scale or ask a nearby competitor to come over and weigh it quick, if they are willing. Non-tournament species, such as walleye, northern pike, panfish, etc ARE legal to keep for eating purposes even if caught during this tournament, according to state fisheries biologists.
NO LIVE BAIT IS TO BE USED DURING THIS TOURNAMENT! Please give fellow competitors respect and give them at least 50' of courtesy space if they are anchored, using a shallow water anchor, or have their trolling motor in the water. This chain has a lot of acres, so there is no reason anglers can't show sportsmanship and share water.
IF YOU ARE FISHING WITH A CHILD, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY ALLOWED TO HELP THEM FISH IN ANY WAY. If you hook into a fish, you are even encouraged to let your child angler reel it in, giving them a chance to win the kid's 12 & under big bass competition. James Gang tournaments put kids #1 and our most important goal is to see them have a good time, begging to come back!
